Eurosatory 2016: The robot killer THeMIS in demonstration

Several nations are working on armed robots and the 2016 edition of the Eurosatory fair was an opportunity for the Estonian Milrem to her THeMIS (Tracked Hybrid Modular Infantry System). It is a UGV (unmanned ground vehicle) designed to perform reconnaissance missions, to search for mines of type IED (Improvised Explosive Device) or to carry out medical evacuations or simply refreshment.

This robot, able to carry between 700 and 1,000 kg was developed by Milrem, a UGV Estonian defence industry on which was mounted the armed turret of the Singaporean ST Kinetics. This robot has already participated in maneuvers Spring Storm 2016 armed forces Estonian, proof of the maturity of the State Baltic military robotics.
