Video of the week: the strange moustache robot of the Bristol Robotics Laboratory

This is probably the most bizarre research project which was presented at the 2016 edition of the ICRA (International Conference on Robotics and Automation). British robot of the Bristol Robotics Lab and the University of Sheffield is among the most amazing illustration that is the biomimicry applied to robotics. Indeed, researchers have equipped with a robot arm of whiskers, like those of a cat who help him move in the dark. Called Bellabot, this awful robot uses its biomimetic tactile whiskers powered artificial muscles to “visualize” its immediate environment. Will see it someday by robots with such whiskers to move there where a camera would be unusable?
